Re-Registration Date Extended For January 2021 Session – IGNOU


Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has again extended the last date of Re-Registration for January 2021 Session.

This has almost become a trend in IGNOU. Previously date for Re-Registration was extended till 15th February 2021. Now again the last date has been extended. The new date is 28th February 2021. Students who want to re-register for next year/semester now got 2 weeks time. But we suggest to fill the re-registration form as soon as possible because IGNOU has a bad record of last minute server problem.

Some students are facing problem

We have received some queries from BCOM students who want to re-register for the 3rd year of their program. Due to some problem/error they are unable to select 3rd in the re-registration form. They are being asked to fill the form for 2nd year when they have already done so, and some have even filled the exam form.

This problem could be due to some database error because seems like their data on the re-registration portal hasn’t been updated. We hope that this issue will be resolved soon by IGNOU so that students can complete re-registration process without any worry.

What is Re-Registration

Re-registration means to enroll in an existing program in the next year or next semester. Re-Registration facility is available only for those candidates who have been enrolled for 1 year or longer duration program by taking Admission in IGNOU. There is no extra criteria to enroll for next year or semester because you have already been admitted in the same course/program. Even if you do not attend an exam, you can still submit an application for re-registration. You will be enrolled for the next semester / year, simply by paying the annual or semesterual fee for your program.

Important note: Once you have made the payment you will get the Form Preview option. Save/Print your form for future reference. Confirmation e-mail will also be sent to you at your registered e-mail address and also by SMS. Once you have completed your Re registration, we advise all the students that you should check your registration status after you have logged in with the correct information. If you have not received confirmation, please contact IGNOU Helpline Number as soon as possible.
