How to apply for Early Declaration of Result in IGNOU ?

Hello there, You might have seen Early Declaration on the IGNOU’s result page while checking your result. And you may have guessed what it is and how you can apply for it. Right ?

Now you don’t have guess it any more, in this post i will explain clearly that what is this Early Declaration and what are the requirements and fee to apply for it.

What is Early Declaration ?

Many students are unable to get in the good university or get their desired job because their result is yet to be declared by the university. This is the problem faced not only by IGNOU but by many students of other universities as well.

So to tackle this problem IGNOU came with a solution of Early Declaration of Result. Students who have been selected for any job and they are required to submit their Grade Card or Marks Statement to get the job can apply for Early Declaration of Result.

One other case can be when a student has passed any entrance exam and is eligible for higher education and he/she is required to submit the Grade Card or Marks Statement to get the seat.

If you have any such situation you can apply for Early Declaration and your result will be declared on priority basis. Normally result is declared after 45 days of last exam conducted by the university. But early declaration result are updated within one week of last exam.

What is the fee for Early Declaration of Result ?

The fee for early declaration of result is Rs. 1000/- per course for Indian Students & Rs. 1200/- for SAARC Countries’ Students and $50 for Non-SAARC Countries’ Students, which is to be paid through demand draft drawn in favour of ‘IGNOU’ payable at the City of Evaluation Centre.

When can i apply for Early Declaration of Result ?

Ok, you now know the fee and you still want to apply for it ? So now you want to know when can you apply?

You can only apply for the Early Declaration of Result if you are in the last semester/year of your program. You must apply for the Early Declaration of Result before the exams have been started. For better understanding : exams starts on 1st June or 1st December so you have to apply before this date.

You must additionally fulfill below requirements/conditions to apply for Early Declaration.

Requirements/Conditions for Early Declaration

(1). Request for early declaration of results will be entertained for final semester/year or maximum of 4 backlog courses only, subject to the following conditions:-

  • The student has been selected for higher study/employment and statement of marks / grade card is required to be produced to the institute by a particular date, which is before the prescribed dates of declaration of the University’s results.
  • The student has completed all the other prescribed components except the term-end examination of the courses, for which early evaluation has been sought.

(2). Application for early declaration, for the reasons such as to apply for recruitment/higher study/ post and promotion purpose etc. will not be entertained.

(3). Application without enclosing documentary evidence specifying the reason for early declaration will not be entertained.

(4). Application form must reach at the following address before the date of the examination for the course (s) for which early evaluation is sought:-
