Indira Gandhi National Open University has started a new course to encourage the farmers to use solar water pump for irrigation in the fields. The university has prepared this course in collaboration with the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The purpose of this course to start is to provide alternatives to the farmers dependent on the diesel pumping set for irrigation. At the same time, make people aware of green energy.
Indira Gandhi National Open University has started a new course to encourage the farmers to use solar water pump for irrigation in the fields. The university has prepared this course in collaboration with the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The purpose of this course to start is to provide alternatives to the farmers dependent on the diesel pumping set for irrigation. At the same time, make people aware of green energy.
This course has been started under the Self Platform of the Ministry of Human Resources. Admission has started in this course. Under this, education will be started from 5th September on the day of teacher day. For enrollment in this course, registration can be done through HRD Ministry’s own platform.
According to a senior IGNOU officer, this course will play an important role in making people aware about solar energy. Under this course, students will be told from the installation of a solar pump in the fields and its components, including its maintenance, repairs. Even if a solar water pump gets damaged, it will also be given information under this course. Through this course, people who work on large scale solar pumps in the country will also be trained.
