IGNOU Ties Up With NIFTEM For Skill Development and Entrepreneurial Activities In food Processing Areas
IGNOU is offering six programmes in the areas of food processing, developed with the support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, GoI. NIFTEM, Kundli, Haryana has become the Programme Study centre from the academic session July, 2018 for the following six programmes:
  • PG Diploma in Food Safety and Quality Management
  • Diploma in Dairy Technology
  • Diploma in Meat Technology
  • Diploma in Fish Products  Technology
  • Diploma in Value Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables
  • Awareness programme on Value Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables
The food processing is one of the priority areas and the new interventions have amplified its scope. This would require a large number of trained and qualified workforce who could ensure the quality and productivity in the food industry. These Diploma programmes of IGNOU intend to inculcate vocational and entrepreneurial skills to widen the employment opportunities, particularly among rural youth and disadvantaged sections of the society as well as self employment.
The admission process has started for the current academic session and the last date for submission of filled-in application form is 15th July, 2018 (without late fee). Any 12th Pass or 10th pass with Bachelor Preparatory Programme can take admission in Diploma programmes and graduates can take admission in PG Diploma programme. The BPL urban learners and all the rural learners can avail 50% fee exemption. The programme fee is completely exempted for the SC/ST learners.
