IGNOU Renews MoU with IIBF for MBA (Banking and Finance)

School of Management Studies, IGNOU renewed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) to provide the specialized program for in-service banking professionals. The MBA (Banking and Finance) is designed to improve the managerial skills, abilities and orientation of the bank’s staff in service.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU and Dr. J N Misra, Executive Director, IIBF.
The Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU was delighted with the ongoing partnership between IIBF and the University since 1999 and sought suggestions to increase enrollment in the program. He asked to make the program more relevant to banking professionals with added value to the program. He also proposed a joint workshop exclusively designed for discussions on program improvements.

Prof. Madhu Tyagi, Director, SOMS stated, “This renewal will give us the chance to further expand the program and benefit much more in the banking and financial sector.” Dr. J N Mishra, CEO of IIBF in his statement said that the association between IIBF and IGNOU was really beneficial and that we need to convey the value proposition to IIBF members. He emphasized the use of digital media to better engage IIBF members. He welcomed the suggestion of a joint workshop focusing on new areas.

Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF)

The Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, established in 1928, has been functioning with a mission “to develop professionally qualified and competent bankers and finance professionals primarily through a process of education, training, examination consultancy / counseling and continuing professional development programs”. The Institute is managed by a Governing Council consisting of Chairmen of various banks and eminent academicians.
The Institute is primarily known for its flagship qualification viz. CAIIB . Almost all the bankers acquire the same for their professional development and career progression. Apart from this, the Institute also offers Diploma and Certificate courses in niche areas.
